Dear Students,
With deep concern we find that the job opportunities after graduation and post graduation in all sectors are falling and almost crashed all over the world due to COVID-19. It has affected our daily life including education. The people are retrenched from their existing jobs and unemployment is telling on the economic growth. The GDP of India has fallen to 6.12%.
In this situation we will have to stand by ourselves by creating our own jobs and career for others as well for survival and get the return of the money spent in higher education.
"But, how to accomplish that?"
MEDIA has got the answer. "Media Studies, Mass Communication and Journalism", the multidisciplinary courses in UG and PG levels teach and groom us how the tools of media like Public Relations, Advertising, Marketing (both traditional and digital), Audio Visual Communication, Event Management, Print & Electronic releases can be utilized to create a platform of SELF EMPLOYMENT to build our own CAREER….and no job hunting.
We were discussing about SELF EMPLOYMENT to build our own CAREER in MEDIA.
This challenging proposal may appear to you fictitious and ridiculous.
Now tell me, what are the areas your parents have curtailed in household expenses in this financial crunch during COVID-19 when the prices are shooting high? May be a little in the daily marketing! But have they disconnected the cable line of Tv, stopped the daily news paper or internet which feed us with INFOTAINMENT (information and entertainment)?
I hope, No! We need them for 24x7right from the morning. The news paper over a cup of tea till we go to bed switching off the Tv, since they feed our brain, not the stomach.
You must have noticed the recent influx of advertisements in television and news papers. The durable and nondurable product producers are eager to be present in the front line of the consumers through the advertising agencies and PR people declaring discount over discount on various occasions as the overall market of consumer products are falling. There are few buyers for them. The scene is global.
According to report, the Indian Media and Entertainment Industry expected to grow at a CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) of 12.0% to Rs.2, 34, 900 Cr. over the next three years in all segments. Advertisement spending will be 12.7% CAGR.
Now you can imagine the growth rate in Media Industry both in Electronic & Print for time to come.
The innovation and expansion of INTERNET has made it possible to upload media content at a very low cost with advertisements for revenue and by subscription. This has opened a vast global horizon for the new generation students with proper grooming to install and operate own WEB PORTALS as well as OTT platform with their Creative, Administrative and Technical empowerment to be the master of their own. This will also create job opportunities in various fields of Media.
